RESISTOL
The Resistol Hat story begins in the 1920’s when a young millionaire by the name of E.R. Byer traveled south to Texas where he met a young hat maker, Harry Rolnick, who was operating a small hat factory. Byer was a customer of Rolnick’s and was so impressed by his professionalism and devotion to quality that they opened the firm of Byer-Rolnick in Dallas, Texas in 1927. The company produced men’s felt western and dress hats, marketed under the brand name “Resistol Hats”, meaning to resist-all weather.
In the beginning distribution was limited to Texas and Oklahoma, but innovations like the Self-Conforming band and Kitten Finish gave Resistol Hats national attention and in 1938 they expanded to a larger facility in Garland, Texas, where Resistol Hats are manufactured today. The brand’s success continued and they became the greatest name in western hats.
Resistol Hat is synonymous with quality. There are over 200 steps that go into making every Resistol hat. Each one begins with quality. Resistol hats are made with only the finest furs and leathers.
